Focus on Collaboration is a course focused on the key figures within organizations.

It provides specific tools on how to make a difference, as an individual, in collaboration with others, by making a real connection and by thorough dialogue. The magic arises when people do this starting from their own personality and strength, and not by following “little systems”. That is what makes this training completely different, and very personal. And therefore, very effective.

Why choose this training instead of another one?

Bottom line is that companies wish to be successful. They are constantly looking for parameters to maximize their results. Meanwhile, research shows that, again and again, people are the booster for success.

People_

People who feel free to do business, to take initiative, to suggest improvements … and gain satisfaction from this. All of this is very logical. And yet, it appears that people still don’t do this enough. For many reasons, both due to their own personality, and due to a context that does not support them sufficiently.

Key figures_

Our goal is to inform key figures within companies, of the crucial role they can and must play to create/nurture this collaborative culture within organizations. By offering them very specific tools on how to lay the foundation for this.

Role model_

“Shit goes down the hill”. Good (personal) leadership is the foundation to avoid this. That is why this program focuses on the key figures who can make a difference and can set a good example as a role model.

For who is this program

This program is aimed at experienced managers and key figures within an organization. Participants of this program are familiar with the “ins and outs” of management, communication and leadership. During this program, the focus lies on applying these skills and strengthening them, supported by a theoretical collaboration model, according to the personality of each participant.

By the end of this course:

TO UNDERSTAND

Participants understand which defense mechanisms they initiate during a conflict.

TOOLS

They have tools to turn these defense mechanisms into a constructive attitude.

MORE FLEXIBLE

People can be more flexible by using behavior that leads to a constructive collaboration.

TO APPLY

They can apply the collaboration model in daily practice.

TO EVOLVE

They are able to continue their own development/evolution.

Practical

Behavioral change cannot be achieved in a few days. It is therefore essential that a solid foundation is laid, which allows the participant to get started immediately after training. Therefore, we work with simulations during the program (based on own cases), video feedback and, in particular, a lot of personal feedback and reflections. The focus lies on experimentation, which allows people to experience and test, in an effective way, collaboration behavior.

Heidi Brepoels

After studying communication sciences at the VUB and political science at the “Institut d’études Politiques” in Bordeaux, I started my professional career as a marketer at Corelio. Each day a new paper, each day a new action. The adrenaline was flowing. Personal events made me search again. Search for more, more depth.

And that is how my company Switches was founded in 2000. A new passion. A passion that goes even better with who I am. Guiding people towards a better version of themselves. Which allows them to develop, to be aware of their strengths and to focus on what really gives them energy.

My clients describe me as a special mix between ‘hard’ and ‘soft’, passionate and sometimes stubborn … a bit mysterious also. I might be confronting but always involved with the people and organizations I’m guiding.

In my work as a trainer I use different methods/tools, depending on the situation. I’m certified in MBTI (I and II), Firo-B, Insights, metaprofile, OPQ, … and I make use of methods from various ‘schools’ (NLP, solution focused approach, provocative coaching, radical collaboration, mindfulness…). I work in Dutch, French and English.

Among my clients, I can count major players, such as AXA, KBC, Dela, Randstad, Besix, Luxemburg Institute of Health, …

Based on several courses that I have given and followed over the years, I have developed and refined “Focus on Collaboration” into my “master piece”. It represents who I am and what I stand for: the wonderful struggle between authenticity and sincerity in organizations, as an individual within a larger whole. Nele has enriched this program with her insights regarding “psychological security”, and she is the most complementary “partner in crime” I could wish for.

Nele De Peuter

Educated as a lawyer, I started my career in the financial sector. For nearly 15 years I have gained business experience in various positions, including as a lawyer and senior underwriter in export financing. Thereby, I came in contact with various Belgian and international companies.

The financial crisis was a turning point. More and more employees dropped out with stress-related complaints which for me personally raised a lot of questions. What is the cause? How can this be turned around? What can organisations do?

With these questions in mind, I registered for a few courses at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. My fascination for organizations and people in the workplace eventually resulted in a Master of Occupational and Organizational Psychology supplemented with a broad training programme: mediation, group dynamics, coaching of groups and teams, professional trainer, deep democracy, etc.

No organisation is the same, each has its own history, culture and depends on sector-specific characteristics. At StatusFlow I guide organisations in their search for solutions for broadly all psychosocial risks, in which I fulfill various roles, including as a trainer, consultant, process counselor and mediator.

Study, research and training remain a constant. As a guest lecturer at Odisee (KULeuven), guest lecturer and research assistant at VUB, I am always looking for new practical applications of scientific research in organisations.
